The primary aim of the Institute for Training Dance Artists is to train and educate versatile dancers in all three specializations (classical ballet, folkdance and modern dance), according to the highest professional requirements of today. They in turn will be capable of meeting the expectations of the different ensembles and choreographers through their professional and artistic expertise. It is the responsibility of the Institute to nurture its pupils starting from the preparatory courses all the way up to the performances of the students at college level, as well as give tailor-made training to the especially talented ones. This includes giving sound technical and intellectual knowledge and cultivating the personality of the would-be dance artists, who choose dance as their career. The Institute for Training Dance Artists ensures that the students get theatrical practice by performing on stage at the Academy Theatre and other Hungarian and foreign performances as well. An important part of their theatrical practice is their participation in the performances of the Hungarian State Opera. The purpose of preparing the excelling students for international competitions is not only for the sake of measuring their achievement against other international schools but also nurturing their special talents and promoting their future career.
