Preparatory courses, folk dance specialisation (from the age of 14-15)

The Preparatory course for folk dances prepares candidates for a professional career. It encompasses a daily, six-day per week practical training programme. Pupils learn folk dance, classical ballet, modern techniques (Graham, Limón, jazz, contact), and participate in skills development training.  They regularly perform in events organised by the university.

The duration of the entire training programme is five years; the first two are the preparatory courses. Following a successful entrance exam, candidates proceed to a three-year BA programme offering a BA degree.

Teachers of the university adapt the curriculum to the most up-to-date requirements. Our excellent folk dance and ballet masters are among the best known and most highly qualified professionals.

We expect those for the folk dance specialisation who will finish their 8th grade this year, who are not older than 16 and are committed to a dancer’s career.
