The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the university, Kossuth Prize winner János Kiss, was also welcomed on the occasion of his birthday in the university’s Nagy Zoltán Jr theatre hall.

On 11 September, visitors from Bulgaria, Japan, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Slovenia and other countries were given an introduction to the past and present of the university through a presentation given by Szilárd Macher DLA, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs.

Then students, distinguished lecturers, artists and invited celebrities attended the costume donation ceremony of Atelier Yoshino Co. in the university’s Nagy Zoltán Jr theatre hall.

Here Tamás Nagy, President of the Artistic Council of the Hungarian Dance University, spoke about the institution, its past and future goals, and also about the importance of the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix and the Grand Audition. The presentation of the international context was no coincidence, as the Hungarian Dance University has been placing special emphasis on raising its international profile in recent years through the events mentioned above and the very successful International Summer Intensive Ballet Course held at the end of the summer, the event being an important milestone in this process.

The university’s rector Márta Fodor-Molnár and Tamás Nagy wished János Kiss, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees happy birthday officially on behalf of the university, because the friendly greeting had already taken place earlier. But it was not only the Kossuth Prize-winning artist who received a welcome, as distinguished guests also arrived at the university, which is going to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

The university was also visited by Her Excellency Mrs Ono Hikariko, Ambassador of Japan to Hungary, and her colleagues.

The Japanese Embassy was very helpful in the organisation from both side as well as Azuma Takae from Japan, representing AZ Group and the Japan-Hungary Friendship Association. Ballet artist Asuka Horio also worked hard on behalf of the university to make this patronage happen. After the purchase of 60 costumes, 60 costumes were donated to the Hungarian Dance University and the students of its two talent centres located in the city of Oroszlány and Szeged.

The generous donation from costume design and rental company Atelier Yoshino Co. was all about the students, as they received world-class costumes so that their artistic work and education will be supported. Of course, it also aims to raise awareness of the importance of supporting the arts and the importance of active business relationships in the world of commerce and dance.

The leaders of the Hungarian Dance University thanked the donators for the noble donation. Márta Fodor-Molnár said that she is sure that this noble donation will be of great help to the students.
