The Hungarian Dance University (HDU) and the Organizing Committee of the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix (BBGP) warmly welcome everyone to the book-signing event to be organised for New York City Ballet prima ballerina Megan Fairchild, whose book is titled “The Ballerina Mindset – How to Protect Your Mental Health While Striving for Excellence.”

Find out how to flourish in a high-pressure, competitive world with the secrets of one of America’s top ballerinas.

The Ballerina Mindset is the perfect “how-to” guide for dancers, athletes, artists, or anyone who finds it challenging to stay balanced in a difficult and stressful environment.

As the book says, ballet may look glamorous and easy to the audience, but in reality, it takes constant hard work and humility. It’s not enough for a dancer to practice six to eight hours a day before a performance—they still have to make it look simple!

Megan Fairchild, a distinguished judge at the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix, prima ballerina of the New York City Ballet, and former Broadway star—not to mention a mother and a graduate student—knows these challenges very well. In her book The Ballerina Mindset, she shares the experiences she has gained over nearly two decades of her career. Drawing from her own life, she shows how she dealt with stage fright, negative reviews, and packed schedules, offering ideas on how we can handle similar challenges ourselves.

The book is inspiring, easy to read, and very relevant! This is a special chance to meet an amazing artist, hear her thoughts, and get your copy personally signed.

Location & Time:

Libri Allee Bookstore

The book is available here in Hungarian.
