The Nádasi Ferenc Secondary School of the Hungarian Dance University entered its interdisciplinary production of “János Vitéz” under the name “Zengetők” into the Operetta Theatre’s “The Stage is Yours!” competition. The performance has been rehearsed with dedication and enthusiasm since September. The production features 40 singers and musicians as well as 30 dancers.
The production is based on Gergely Gulyás’s Moldavian suite “Elindultunk a nagy útra…”, which the composer wrote for choir, piano, and percussion. The melody and lyrics of the piece inspired teacher Éva Násztor to shape a scene from “János Vitéz”.
