Between 7 and 18 July, the first summer folk dance course was held as part of the Diaspora Scholarship Programme and the Diaspora Summer University. Nineteen young people from various diaspora communities took part in the event. On the final day, Dr. Péter Szilágyi, Deputy State Secretary for National Policy, visited Hungarian Dance University.
For two weeks, six instructors from Hungarian Dance University worked with 19 young people from the diaspora under the leadership of Béla Ónodi and organized by Alejandra Brum.
This field holds significance not only from the perspective of the Hungarian nation as a whole but also plays an important role in the strategic plans of Hungarian Dance University, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Therefore, it is particularly gratifying that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, along with the Tempus Public Foundation, supported and gave special attention to the event.
“Programmes supporting the Hungarian diaspora not only serve the preservation of these communities, but also contribute to their strengthening,” emphasized Dr. Péter Szilágyi during his visit.
