Exciting moments from Japan

Tamás Nagy, President of the Artistic Council of the Hungarian Dance University, Associate Professor, former distinguished and renowned ballet artist, visited Tokyo and Seoul. The professional trip was also important for the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix in November and for the HDU. His report can be read here.

A few months ago, I was honored to be invited as a jury member for this year’s Ballet Japan Cup alongside incredible directors and teachers from around the world. Since I was already scheduled to teach Ballet Master Classes in Seoul, it was the perfect opportunity to witness and support young talent in Tokyo.
Before the competition, I also attended the final selection of the D&D Masterclass, offering talented students invitations to the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix (BBGP). It’s always inspiring to see young artists perform live, receive feedback, and grow on stage.
The competition showcased an incredibly high level of artistry. I was thrilled to award scholarships, invitations to our Summer Intensive Ballet Course, and spots for BBGP 2025. I can’t wait for the Hungarian audience to witness their brilliance in Budapest!
Mark your calendars: Budapest Ballet Grand Prix – November 17-21, 2025! Stay tuned for applications. See you there!
