The Hungarian Dance University is launching its Talent Development Centre Network for Hungarian communities living abroad, with Târgu Mureș, Transylvania, as its first location. The programme aims to make the university’s high-quality dance talent development training, based on consistent professional principles, accessible to children from Hungarian communities abroad, as well as to all interested children of Romanian nationality.
The mission of the Hungarian Dance University’s Talent Development Centres for Hungarian communities living abroad is to build bridges between Hungary and Hungarian communities beyond its borders, while providing talented children with access to high-quality artistic training and helping preserve Hungarian cultural values.
What does the programme offer?
- Classical ballet training
- Skills development through Floor Barre and Progressing Ballet Technique
- Dance talent identification and preparatory programmes
- Preparation for admission to the Hungarian Dance University’s professional dance programmes
The training develops children’s physical literacy, coordination, balance, sense of rhythm, body awareness, as well as their concentration and cooperation skills through playful, age-appropriate methods. The programme is intended not only for children who aspire to pursue a professional career in dance, but also for any young person who wishes to develop a sophisticated, health-conscious approach to movement.
The programme in Târgu Mureș is led by ballet dancer Diana Paula Decu, who previously graduated from the Hungarian Dance University.

No previous training is required for the audition!
During the audition, we assess the children’s physical attributes and abilities, including:
- posture and spinal alignment
- muscle flexibility
- joint range of motion
- assessment of the arches of the feet
Following the audition, parents will receive detailed feedback on their child’s physical attributes and potential areas for development.
What to bring to the audition
- ballet leotard
- tights or socks
- close-fitting shorts (if necessary)
- neatly styled hair
Planned timetable: 5:30–6:40 pm Monday and Wednesday,
