The graduating students of classical ballet and folk dance travelled to Oradea to perform at the 7th Infinite Dance Festival, held at Szigligeti Theatre, presenting excerpts from their exam concerts.

Launched by the Oradea Dance Ensemble of the Szigligeti Theatre with the intention of creating a tradition, the Infinite Dance Festival is a unique event series in the region, distinguished by its exclusive focus on dance theatre genres.

The festival, which defines itself as an interdisciplinary arts event, features performances by internationally acclaimed companies representing and practicing a wide range of movement theatre forms at a high artistic level — including classical and contemporary ballet, folk dance and contemporary dance, as well as, through its accompanying programs, hip-hop, majorette, and street dance.

In line with the mission of Szigligeti Theatre, the festival not only hosts professional ensembles, but also offers performance opportunities to emerging talents within the framework of the now traditional Gala of the Academies.

The university’s invitation to the festival has become a tradition, as the Hungarian Dance University is a strategic partner of the festival.

Before their performance, the students and their accompanying instructors attended a presentation by the Oradea Dance Ensemble entitled We Were Birds (directed by Csaba Zsolt Tőkés), in which two graduating students also performed as interns. Several members of the ensemble were also dance artists who had previously graduated from the Hungarian Dance University.

The performance of the Hungarian Dance University was met with great success and, as the organizers put it: “…see you here again next year!

We would like to thank you for the invitation, the excellent program, the thoughtful care and attention, and the outstanding professional partnership!
