In 2025, representatives from the Dance and Fine Arts Primary, Vocational Secondary School and Dormitory (maintained by Széchenyi István University), the Hungarian Dance University (HDU), and the Győr Ballet signed an agreement to create a unique dance career pathway programme.
Under this initiative, secondary school students can begin their university studies while still in high school. Upon graduating from secondary school, they can earn a university degree at HDU in just two semesters. This programme is now becoming a reality.
As a result, 12th-grade dance students at the Győr Dance and Fine Arts Primary, Vocational Secondary School and Dormitory have officially become university students too!
This is a major step forward and the fruit of the already excellent cooperation between the Hungarian Dance University (HDU), Széchenyi István University, and the Győr Ballet. As part of this newly launched full-time off-campus higher education programme, the school’s students have entered into parallel student status, so they can earn their degree faster.
What does this mean in practice?
- A clear career path: At the Dance and Fine Arts School, students receive guidance and mentorship from age 6 all the way until they get their degree.

- Practical support: Because of this renewed partnership, students get strong daily support from both the Győr Ballet and HDU.
