The Egri Studio Theatre Dance Festival was organised for the twelfth time. This year the event took place between 27 September and 1 October. Students from the Hungarian Dance University were also present, and their trip was videorecorded.

The 12th Eger Studio Theatre Dance Festival featured eight performances over five days, with nearly two hundred dancers performing. Balázs Blaskó, director of the Gárdonyi Géza Theatre and Tamás Topolánszky, director of GG Tánc Eger and director of the HDU Choreography and Dance Teacher Training Institute said earlier that the dance festival was organised first 12 years ago in order to create a tradition.

“Every year the festival gives Hungarian and foreign dance groups the opportunity to present themselves. The audience have seen different genres in the past and in these five days as well,” said Tamás Blaskó at the press conference.

Tamás Topolánszky underlined that the dance festival has been successfully organised for 12 years, and the National Dance Theatre is a key partner. The director of the Hungarian Dance University said that the festival was organised for all age-groups, and the same is true for the performers, and therefore he was especially pleased that students of the Hungarian Dance University participated at the event in Eger.

The university students’ journey, rehearsal and performance were filmed, and a longer road movie of the memorable day was made and will be available HERE
